The lyrics to Hawkwind’s 1971 song, You Shouldn’t Do That, has the following lyrics:
“…You shouldn’t do that, should do that
You try so hard to get somewhere
They put you down and cut your hair
They’re saying you’re no good, they just don’t care
You’re trying to fly, you get nowhere
You get no air, you’re getting aware
You get no air, you get no air
You get no air, you get no air
You’re getting aware, you’re getting aware
You get nowhere, you get nowhere
You get nowhere, you’re getting aware
You shouldn’t do that, should do that…
…You shouldn’t do that, should do that
You want so hard to get somewhere
With trees and flowers growing there
If you can’t make it you’re going spare
You’re trying to fly, you get nowhere
You’re getting aware, you get no air
You get no air, you get nowhere
You’re getting aware, you get nowhere
You want so hard to get somewhere
You’re getting nowhere…”
This song, speaks of, what the archons call “baking potatoes”: Every time we got told off, we changed ourselves, and became less authentic, less true, to ourselves, but more acceptable, and therefore, in the short-term, happier, more comfortable. But less like the true, “us”.
Echoes here of other songs from other bands of the period: – “You can’t do this, you can’t do that”, “Hey teacher, leave those kids alone!”
This is the impact of targeted microaggressions, dressed as debate, education, discussion, discourse. Competitive discourse, aimed at scoring points of each other.
This is why those archons love their pressure cooker, with us “potatoes” inside it. They want to know, just how much of yourself you can lose, before you try to say “stop”.
They know you will ask for it to stop. They know, just like psychologist, Carl Rogers’ knew, that the less authentic a person is, the more internal distress that they will have.
This also means, that they less time to think, and cope, with that distress. So we do not notice this normalised, acceptable toxicity, dressed up, often as friendship, with all those subtle hints. Microaggression after microaggression, the slow death of our unique authentic self, via the cuts, of 1000 knives.
These days, of course, they have blocked off all access to help. Those signposts were switched, just like the Nazi’s. in the Battle of the Blitz.
Now all those signposts lead you to medication. This does not relieve any internal stress, no. This just helps you forget it. Until your body gives up hope, and starts mutating, in some hope of escaping that constant mind-fuck.
Those archons love those mutations. They call them cancers, and other degrading, age related diseases.
Then they force you to try to live as long as possible. All the while, your body, is now doing itself, as much damage, as possible, to escape it’s distress.
This, I suggest, is the reason why Dave Brock have that track on the first Hawkwind album – Be Yourself.
That was his simple and founding, awakening truth. That we simply be ourselves, to be free.
But, I think that he did not fully realise just how many robots he was already speaking to. Robots, are entirely false people. Convinced that how they think and act, is some kind of authentic. It is not.
Authenticity can be a difference, for sure. But, a difference, may just be painting your Levies with a union jack, or a pretend contraband hack. A copy of a copy so vague that it stands out. A fan, mixing influences, to pretend that is their unique and true, authentic self, whitewashes Dave’s plan.
